Peerless Pool, nestled within Saratoga Spa State Park since 1962, is undergoing a transformative $3.6 million renovation aimed at revamping its beloved Kiddie and Slide pool zone into a vibrant, family friendly children’s play area. The Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation is spearheading the effort, which includes the installation of a zero depth, ADA accessible wading pool fed by a newly designed water feature that echoes the park’s historic spouter springs. The project also entails refurbishing the pool’s slides, significantly reducing concrete hardscaping, and enhancing greenspaces with shade canopies and gardens—creating a safer, more immersive nature inspired experience for visitors.

Supporting this facelift is a comprehensive overhaul of the pool’s infrastructure. The filtration and pumping systems—long overdue for an upgrade—will be replaced to ensure compliance with modern safety and water quality standards. These behind-the-scenes improvements form the backbone of the renovation, reflecting a commitment to sustainability and operational longevity, in alignment with Governor Hochul’s initiatives to promote outdoor recreation and children’s wellness.

Jersen Construction Group LLC has been selected as the General Contractor and Plumbing Contractor to execute the slide and kiddie pool rehabilitation, managing tasks ranging from demolition, excavation and plumbing to installation and finishing—Leadership on-site will ensure coordination of complex trade work, meticulous attention to ADA accessibility, and integration of design elements that honor the park’s historical character while enhancing visitor engagement. With the Kiddie and Slide pool area closed for the 2025 season, Jersen’s work is on track for timely completion ahead of the 2026 summer season, promising a refreshingly fun and functional destination for families once again.
