Lincoln Park Pool
Project Description
SCOPE:
Jersen served as the General Contractor for the construction of the new Lincoln Park Pool complex in Albany, NY. The 72,000-square-foot aquatic facility replaces the original 1931-era pool. To ensure structural stability, 285 micro piles—ranging from 40 to 90 feet deep—were installed to bedrock across the site. A complex network of underground utilities, including a 6,400 square foot stormwater detention system, was installed to support the operation of a facility of this magnitude.
The complex features a zero-entry activity pool with interactive water features, a half-size Olympic lap pool, and a two-tone colored concrete splash pad with multiple water features and a two-flume waterslide. Additional elements include a new bath house and filter building, terraced green space, two pavilions, and a furnished patio area.
Jersen also completed two supplemental contracts essential to the complex’s operation. The first involved installation of a new 8″ water main extending 2,200 feet to support increased water supply demands. The second brought the historically protected existing bath house up to modern ADA standards through brick masonry restoration, resinous flooring installation, painting, window refurbishment, and accessibility upgrades to locker rooms and facilities.
