Jersen Construction Group has completed our largest single contract dollar project to date. The $69M Shaker Place Rehabilitaton and Nursing Center in Colonie, NY.
Owned by Albany County, Shaker Place has recently undergone an $80 million renovation project. Spanning 2017-2022, the project includes the addition of 77,000 square feet, and features new facilities including an expansion of the common areas, private rooms accessible on the ground floor, and energy efficient equipment and lighting.
Jersen served as General Contractor for renovations and additions, including: new storm and sewer drainage systems, parking areas, nine additions and complete renovation of the existing facility, all lighting, electrical, HVAC and an integrated BMS system. The entire project was completed while the building was occupied, without interruption of services.

Shaker Place was one of only four recipients throughout the State of New York. 5-Star CMS Quality Rating is awarded after undergoing rigorous health and staffing inspections as well as quality measures, Shaker Place has been able to achieve the prestigious 5-star CMS Quality rating through the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. This rating considers 15 different physical and clinical measures for nursing home residents. CMS created the Five-Star Quality Rating System to help consumers, their families, and caregivers compare nursing homes more easily and we are extremely proud of this designation.
2022 Winner of Newsweek’s Best Nursing Homes in America, Shaker Place was proudly announced as one of Newsweek’s Best Nursing Homes in 2022. Receiving this award greatly reflected the hard work of our staff and leaders, who’ve worked tirelessly to offer excellent and reliable quality care. To receive this award, Shaker Place ranked highly in performance, reputation, and COVID-19 response.
