Green Building with LEED Certification
When you consider today’s high cost of energy, it has never been more compelling to build green. “Going Green” is not only good for the environment, but can also greatly reduce your energy costs which is also good for your bottom line.
The FAB8 building for GlobalFoundries is just one of several green projects that Jersen worked on and received LEED-Certification.
Other projects include:
- VASSAR Brothers Medical Center
- STEP-Tech (Saratoga Technology and Energy Park)
- Schenectady Bureau of Services
- SUNY Albany Data Center
All of these projects have received, or are in the process of receiving, the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Certifications. Projects pursuing LEED Certification earn points across several areas that address sustainability issues. Based on the number of points achieved, a project then receives one of four LEED rating levels: Certified, Silver, Gold and Platinum.
